Really? The list maker actually claims that friends standing far away is a messianic prophecy? REALLY? If some of these claims seemed ridiculous in the first 100 of so-called "365 messianic prophecies Jesus fulfilled" in the T'nach this one is perhaps the most ridiculous of all. Since when does the idea of friends standing far away be prophetic of anything, let alone a way to recognize the man who will bring world peace and global knowledge of G-d? Line 3 says "For Your arrows have been shot into me." What arrows were shot into Jesus? None. On top of that, this line speaks of the subject's lovers. Wasn't Jesus supposedly "without sin"? He never married, per the Christian bible, so did he have lovers? T'hillim / Psalm 38:12 (11 in most Christian translations) says "My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my affliction, and those close to me stood afar." Speaking of "without sin" -- how does the list maker deal with the fact that the Psalmist discusses his own sins in this psalm: "There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your fury; there is no peace in my bones because of my sin / חַטָּאתִ / cheit (a missing of the mark)." T'hillim / Psalm 38:4. Yet most missionaries insist that Jesus is without sin! Yet, here we have the subject of the psalm being shot with arrows, having lovers, and admitting to his sin! List maker, please explain to us how this psalm is about Jesus! This is only one of many lines in this psalm where the subject admits to sinning and other wrongdoings. "For my iniquities / עֲ֭וֹנֹתַי / avon (worse than sin) passed over my head; as a heavy burden they are too heavy for me." T'hillim / Psalm 38:5. An avon / עוון is not a mistake (it is more serious than sin) -- it is a knowing violation of the rule of law -- the commission of a crime from an impulsive (think lustful). The subject of this psalm is admitting to committing these violations which are worse than sins! How could this be about the sinless Jesus? Line 6 says "My boils are putrid; they fester because of my folly." Did Jesus have festering boils? The subject not only has them, but they are there because of his אִוַּלְתִּֽי / foolish behavior. Did Jesus behave foolishly? Skip to line 19 which says "For I relate my iniquity / עֲוֹנִ֥י / avon (worse than sin) ; I worry about my sin / מֵֽחַטָּאתִֽי / cheit." Again -- did Jesus commit sins and worse than sins? If not, this psalm is not about Jesus and it is not a messianic prophecy either. Not that having your lovers and friends distance themselves from a person is all that unusual. It most certainly is not a prophecy since it fits so many people.
